The Cristina Fontanelli Foundation, Inc.
Putting smiles on kids' and audiences' faces for more than 18 years
MEET AWARD-WINNING SINGER/PBS-TV HOST CRISTINA FONTANELLI
Cristina Fontanelli has been thrilling audiences across the globe with her "vocal genius" for many years. 18 years ago, Cristina had an inspiration to produce her first concert at the Merkin Concert Hall near Lincoln Center in New York City. She had a vision for an annual Italian Christmas concert to delight audiences of all ages that would create joyful family memories while preserving the great songs of Italy and Christmas and give youth performance opportunities. Thus, her charitable producing work began, developing into her own 501 c-3 launched in the year of Covid-19.
The Cristina Fontanelli Foundation at a Glance
Cristina's vision was to give children/youth performances opportunities while preserving the great music of the world. Through the years she has added the goal of spreading awareness of the scientifically-proven healing benefits of this music to society and to personal health. Through Cristina's charitable work, hundreds of children from many backgrounds have had the opportunity of singing, dancing (even singing in sign language!) on major NYC stages, including in 2018 and 2019 at the world's most prestigious music hall, Carnegie Hall. After meeting program expenses, funds are sent to children's causes such as St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the St. Francis Food Pantry of NYC, the Wounded Warriors and many other organizations (list upon request). Free tickets are given to Veterans and low-cost/free tickets are given to Seniors and the under-privileged. Our 2 other members of our Board of Directors: Diane Imbesi Cutrone and Mary Motlenski bring an extensive background in childhood education and non-profit volunteering and administration experience.
Thank you so much for giving my students the thrill of a lifetime!
